#Micah P. Hinson - "Running Scared" (Roy Orbison cover)
#Animal Collective - "My Girls"
#Dead Man's Bones - "Pa Pa Power"
#Dawes - "Love Is All I Am"
#Blitzen Trapper - "Black River Killer"...before a Dawson corrects me, I know this was 2008 but it was re-released on an EP last year which was when I discovered it :)
#Iron & Wine - "The Trapeze Swinger"...again this is apparently an older song of his, but was released this year on a B-Sides album
#Monsters Of Folk - "Say Please"...I had to put at least one song off my top album of the year on this list!
Great call on the Vic Chesnutt tune. I have been listening to him a lot since he killed himself the other day...and that song could have made my list but I forgot that he made an album last year.
And the "Fantasies" album by Metric would have to be toward the top of my list last year...you could put several songs from it on a best of list.
And a final word of thanks for you guys for telling me about Phoenix...another great great album...I didn't know of them until this year.
